The International Development and Community Organization (IDECO) is a non-profit Organization dedicated to coordinated humanitarian action and sustainable development in Ghana and Cameroon. We implement integrated interventions that combine emergency assistance, resilience-building, and long-term development solutions, ensuring that vulnerable communities receive timely support while building the foundations for sustainable progress.

IDECO works through strategic partnerships with leading national and international NGOs, government institutions, United Nations agencies, donor organizations, foundations, and technical experts. These collaborations enable us to expand access to essential services, strengthen community resilience, improve livelihoods, and create lasting impact that enhances the well-being, dignity, and future opportunities of marginalized populations.

Through this initiative, we invite expressions of interest from partners who are committed to designing and implementing programs that are impactful, accountable, and sustainable. Our goal is to foster strong collaboration that leverages technical expertise, financial resources, and local implementation capacity, addressing urgent humanitarian needs while building resilient communities, promoting inclusive growth, and empowering populations to thrive in the long term.

Target countries:

Cameroon:
Cameroon continues to face complex, protracted crises that threaten the stability and well-being of its communities. In the Far North, insecurity fueled by Boko Haram has disrupted livelihoods, education, and essential services, leaving communities vulnerable. Meanwhile, the Anglophone crisis in the North-West and South-West regions has caused widespread displacement and humanitarian crisis, disruption of education, economic instability, health and social services breakdown, weakened governance and social cohesion, increased vulnerability of women and children as well as psychosocial impact

Overall, the crisis has created a multi-dimensional humanitarian emergency, with urgent needs in food, water, healthcare, education, protection, and livelihood support, while also undermining the long-term stability and development of the affected regions.

Ghana:
Across Ghana, many rural and peri-urban communities continue to face persistent development challenges, including limited access to safe water and sanitation, inadequate healthcare, gaps in education, and barriers to sustainable livelihoods, particularly for women and youth. Environmental pressures, such as illegal mining in Manso Amansie and localized conflicts in Bawku, have further compounded poverty and social vulnerability, leaving communities marginalized and struggling to meet basic needs.

IDECO is committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable communities in Ghana and Cameroon by delivering integrated programs that provide clean water, sanitation, education, and sustainable livelihoods. By empowering women and youth, promoting inclusive development, and building resilience to climate and economic shocks, the organization breaks cycles of poverty, strengthens social cohesion, and creates lasting opportunities for growth and self-reliance.

Through close collaboration with communities, trust-based engagement, and strong local networks, IDECO reaches remote, marginalized, and hard-to-access areas, ensuring equitable and effective support. Its interventions include humanitarian aid, livelihood restoration, social cohesion, and institutional capacity-building, address immediate needs while fostering long-term resilience, hope, and sustainable recovery.
